Take your buddy along for the ride on one of our Buddyrider dog bike seats.  Designed for dogs up to 11.5kg and bicycles with at least 48cm between the seat post and the handlebar stem. Includes all fittings and hardware needed to successfully mount to your bicycle.

Introducing the new and improved Buddyrider Series 2!

The latest design iteration introduces notable improvements over Series 1:
  • The paw deck is now fully adjustable from the original position to laying flat. Allows fine tuning to meet your dog’s riding style and will fit long backed breeds better.
  • The arm now allows greater adjustment when fitting the Buddyrider to each bicycle and has a more robust attachment system.
  • The receiver is now shaped on both sides to grip the seat post better. It still requires 47mm of seat post to mount to.
  • The Series 2 replaces the original design but still fits the existing cushion insert and receiver.
  • Additional receivers purchased remain unchanged from the original design for the time being.
  • And the price remains unchanged!Coming soon to Buddyrider is the flex-arm seat support allowing two points of adjusting the angle of the arm so that Buddyrider will fit smaller frame bicycles. We expect to have stock in the next few weeks.
The BuddyRider Series 2 includes:
  • 1 Reciever
  • 1 Collar
  • 1 Bucket
  • 1 Metal Support Arm
  • 1 Package of Hardware (Please check underside of support arm, taped here)
Can not be mounted to a Carbon Fiber Seat Post. If you have a carbon fiber seat post you must replace it with an aluminium or steel seat post when using this product.

SAFETY WARNING

If you choose to purchase and install the Buddyrider pet seat, you do so at your own risk. Any new additions to a bicycle can alter the balance and handling of the bike, so we strongly recommend getting comfortable with the adjustment before placing your dog in the carrier for the first time.  Your pet must be secured in the seat at all times using the safety harness provided. See the How to Fit page.  PedalPals and BuddyRider will not be held responsible for damage caused or injury sustained through the use of the Buddyrider pet seat. Further more you assume all risks associated with the fitting and use of the Buddyrider pet seat.

PLEASE CHECK BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR BUDDYRIDER

Buddyrider will fit almost all conventionally framed Mountain and Road bikes. Some of the popular short framed bikes may not allow enough room for a Buddyrider – a new flex-arm is soon to be available and will increase the opportunity for shorter framed bicycles to become compatible. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you check the following points before purchasing. ✔ Is there a minimum of 48cm distance between the seat post and the handlebar stem? Measure at right angles to the seat post. The frame on some e-bikes reduce the available length. Raising the seat post and Buddyrider receiver to clear this obstruction may make the seat height unsafe for the rider to remain balanced when at rest. ✔Is there a minimum of 4.5cm of seat post extending above the frame to mount the receiver? If not, again, raising the seat post to accommodate the receiver may make the seat too high for some riders. This is more likely for riders of shorter stature. ✔Buddyrider recommends not fitting the receiver to a dropper seat post however several customers (and myself) have done so. If the four bolts attaching the receiver are tightened too much the seat may not return to the raised position. ✔The Buddyrider cancels out a step through frame. You will need to mount and dismount by swinging your leg over the seat. ✔The Buddyrider may block your view of your E-bike’s display if it is mounted in the centre of the handlebars and can’t be moved. (Kiwi ingenuity has seen owners use a hole saw on the Buddyrider tray to see through!) ✔Some riders of short stature, may find reaching the handlebars around the Buddyrider compromises their riding position. It may be possible to overcome this by installing a handlebar riser that lifts the height of the handlebars and allow adjustment of the bars forward or back. ✔The width of the Buddyrider does force the riders knees out a little resulting in a slightly bow-legged riding style that you quickly become accustomed to. There are very few dogs that don’t love their Buddyrider from the first ride. They just love being with their families. They are simply the coolest piece of kit!
